Stage Management for Community Theatre

Blue Mountains Musical Society is proud to be offering a brand new and exciting course for our members.

Covering:

  • Managing the rehearsal room
  • Organising a stage crew
  • Creating a Prompt Copy
  • Production week – bump-in, lighting plotting, tech rehearsals, performances

Suitable for:

People who are interested in undertaking production team roles in community theatre, particularly stage management.

No prior experience or training necessary! Those who do have training or experience, however, are absolutely welcome to join as the more skill sharing we can do the better!

Workshops will be run by Jessica Lovelace; Stage Manager of Beauty and the Beast, Pirates of Penzance, Spamalot, Cats, West Side Story, We Will Rock You, Jersey Boys, and Director of Sweeney Todd, The Who’s Tommy, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Chicago. Jess studied Stage Management for live theatre at the Australian Academy of Dramatic Arts as a part of her Bachelor of Performance in 2010.

When:

We are intending on holding 3 sessions over the next few months and will attend some rehearsals of Mamma Mia (if you are in the cast of Mamma Mia you can still do the course, you just won’t be able to attend the rehearsal sessions).
